Loving you is like tending a rose that has a generous amount of thorns

I pluck and feed, only to be pricked by the one hidden below your bud

Loving you is like a sunny day in Limpopo with the water levels evaporating

I put on sunscreen and save my liquids only to be left with a dry ying yang version of myself

Loving you is like being with loved ones which dress up for every occasion

I cook, scrub and serve only to be dismantled by my lack of randelas

and the constant pleading im subject to for survival

Loving you is like a beautiful fairytale where cinderella loses her shoe at midnight

I would sincerely wait for you to send texts, emails and calls,

Only to be left with an invitation letter to your extravagant wedding and a baby shower???

I guess I better buy that cot we dreamed to have

Loving you is like knocking on heavens door with my lamp ready and full of light

I had been waiting in the snow till I became Queen of the ice

Only to be disregarded to one with an empty lamp and intentions to destroy

I shouldn’t complain cause at least im in, right?

Loving you is exactly that…a simile, for there is only comparisons not empires
